Staffan
Liljas was born and raised in Sweden,
where
he lived until 1999. He started his singing career
at the age of five, and was
at the time he left Sweden
performing solo and as part of a number of ensembles,
focusing on medieval, renaissance, baroque and
20th century music, performing
both locally, and across Europe.
Staffan has spent the past seven years in New York,
where he has performed with groups such as
the
Ensemble for Early Music, the Choir
of
the Church of Saint Luke in the Fields,
and the Vox
vocal ensemble. Staffan
keeps things
interesting by singing bass,
baritone, and counter tenor,
sometimes during the same performance.
